Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2, 2026

These Terms govern your use of ZumFile at https://zumfile.com. By using our website or tools, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

ZumFileprovides free browser-based utilities for PDF, image, and related file workflows. Features may change, be added, or removed without notice. Some tools are labeled "coming soon" until released.

2. Accounts

Most tools do not require an account. If optional accounts are introduced later, additional terms may apply at registration.

3. Acceptable use

  • Use tools only for lawful purposes
  • Do not upload malware or attempt to disrupt our systems
  • Do not scrape or overload the service without permission
  • Respect intellectual property — you must have rights to files you process
  • Do not use tools to process illegal content or violate others' privacy

4. Your content

You retain ownership of files you process. Because processing occurs locally, we do not claim a license to your document content for tool operations. You are responsible for backups and verifying outputs before relying on them.

5. Disclaimer

Tools are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Compression, conversion, OCR, and editing results may vary by file and browser.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZumFile is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, or business arising from use of the service. Our aggregate liability shall not exceed USD $100 or the amount you paid us in the past twelve months (typically zero for free use).

7. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the service or violation of these Terms.

8. Third-party services

Analytics, fonts, or CDN providers may process technical data under their own policies. Open-source libraries power in-browser processing and remain subject to their licenses.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, excluding conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protections in your country require otherwise.
